VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS/UNIT AND FUNCTIONS

ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT

	This department is responsible for general administration and personnel matters in the Corporation. Dr. Tijjani Garba, an Assistant General Manager, is the Head of the Administration Department.

ACCOUNTS DEPARTMENT

	This department is responsible for the accounting system of the Corporation. All financial transactions must go through the Accounts Department. The department is headed by Mr. B.O. Apeh, a Senior Manager.

MARKETING DEPARTMENT

	Even though every employee of the Corporation is a potential marketer, this department is directly and specially responsible for marketing of the various products being offered by the Corporation. The department is headed by Alhaji A.A. Magaji, an Assistant General Manager.

AGRIC UNDERWRITING DEPARTMENT

This department underwrites the various agricultural policies issued by the Corporation. These policies are classified into:-

1. Subsidized Crops (Rice, beans, cassava and all basis food crops)

2. Commercial (plantation) crops (Rubber, oil, cocoa and all cash crop)

3. Subsidized livestock (cattle, goats, sheep, rabbits and all cash
crops)

4. Commercial livestock (Drugs, Horses, donkeys and others)

5. Fishery

6. Snailery

7. Bee keeping (Apiary)

8. Agricultural produce multi-peril cover

The department is headed by Dr. O. S. Adeymo, a Veterinary doctor.

CONVENTIONAL UNDERWRITING DEPARTMENT

This department is responsible for underwriting the following conventional insurance policies in the Corporation:

Fire & special peril insurance

Consequential loss insurance

Burglary and Housebreaking

General Accident, Group personal Accident, goods in Transit, Fidelity Guarantee, Public Liability, Products Liability, money Insurance, All risk Insurance, Professional Indemnity, etc

Engineering Risk insurance policies comprising contractors All Risk Insurance. Machinery Breakdown Electronic Equipment Insurance

Marine Insurance (Marine cargo, and Hull Insurance)

Bonds Contracts (Advance payment Bond, performance Bonds, Customs and Excise Bond, Bid/tender Bonds but not credit bonds.

Motor Insurance (private Motors, commercial Vehicles, Motor cycles)

The Department is headed by Mr. I. C. Ogbu, a Senior Manager.

AGRIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT

This department oversees all technicalities on all agricultural risks insured by the Corporation. Its functions include:

Interpretation of Agricultural Insurance Policies

Review of Agricultural Insurance policies

Pre- insurance inspection

Carrying out extension services on behalf of the Corporation

The department is headed by Mr. N.O. Ifere, an Assistant General Manager.

CLAIMS/REINSURANCE UNIT

	The major functions of Claims/Reinsurance units include: insurance claims administration and management, loss investigation and assessment, claims documentation and processing, keeping of claims records and statistics, liaising with other departments on issues relating to claims. The units is also responsible for arranging the reinsurance treatise of the corporation.

The unit is headed by Mrs. F. A. Onwuanaokwu, an Assistant Manager.

PLANNING, RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT UNIT

The functions of the Planning Unit include: planning, research, monitoring and evaluation, management information systems, statistics and databank, production of periodical reports and briefs, product development and liaison with relevant agencies.

The Unit is headed by J. K. Olowoyeye, a Principal Planning Officer.

INTERNAL AUDIT UNIT

	The Unit is responsible for: The internal control of the Corporation’s expenditures. It also takes charge and control of the inventory and assets of the Corporation. The Unit is by Mr. A. C. Njoku, an Assistant Manager.

CORPORATE AFFAIRS UNIT

This Unit is responsible for all Public Relations jobs in the Corporation including production of souvenirs, placement of jingles, advertisement, etc. it serves as the image-maker to enhance the corporate reputation and operations of the Corporation.

This Unit is headed by Mr. B.D. Pembi, a Principal Officer.

These departments /Units work assiduously to ensure prompt service delivery to the Corporation’s numerous clients.
